Using the BBC Microbit to bring STEM projects to life PLACES AVAILABLE
Limited Capacity seats available

The BBC Micro:Bit is the perfect tool to bring STEM projects to life within a primary setting. It provides the link between the programming elements of computing and the physical design, making and testing aspects of STEM projects.

This workshop will introduce you to the Micro:Bit; what it is, how it can be used in the classroom and the many benefits to pupils. You do not need any coding experience to get the most out of this session. It will be a hands-on session with plenty of support. If you are a little nervous of computing or tired of Scratch then this workshop offers an excellent opportunity to explore how the Micro:Bit can make computing part of the wider curriculum.

By the end of this workshop you will have:
•             Learnt how to code a Micro:Bit.
•             Connected it to a speaker and played a tune.
•             Made your own lighthouse with flashing LED.
•             Coded the Micro:Bit to move a buggy.

You will also have a chance to reflect on your learning, ask questions and to identify learning opportunities for pupils.
